Teaching Artists in the Schools.

The Missoula Crescendo Club partners with public school music programs to place experienced string clinicians directly into 5th- and 6th-grade orchestra classrooms. Teaching artists provide weekly, hands-on support that builds student confidence while strengthening the ensemble as a whole.

We are committed to ensuring all students—regardless of resources—have access to high-quality, personalized instruction during their most formative years.

In 2025, Crescendo Club enters its third year serving 6th-grade orchestra students at C.S. Porter Middle School and its fourth year working alongside 5th-grade string players at Russell Elementary. With the support of our community, we expanded to Lowell and Hawthorne Elementary Schools, deepening our impact and advancing equitable music education in Missoula..

“Crescendo Club has made personalized music education accessible to at least 100 kids in my 6th-grade orchestras, who otherwise would not be able to afford the kind of support that they deserve.”

— J. Gruber, Director, C.S. Porter Middle School Orchestra
