Teaching Artists in the Schools.

The Missoula Crescendo Club partners with public school music programs to place experienced string clinicians directly into 5th and 6th grade orchestra classrooms. These skilled teaching artists provide hands-on support, helping students grow as confident individual musicians while strengthening ensemble cohesion and success.

What began as a grassroots initiative of Grow Music has grown into the Missoula Crescendo Club—now a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the musical journeys of young string players across Missoula. Since 2022, we’ve been committed to ensuring students have access to high-quality, personalized music instruction during their most formative years.

On a weekly basis, our string clinicians visit public school classrooms to help students refine their technique, deepen their understanding of music, and experience the deep joy of playing music.

In the 2025–26 school year, Crescendo Club proudly enters its third year serving 6th-grade orchestra students at C.S. Porter Middle School and 5th-grade string players at Russell Elementary. This year, we’re excited to expand our reach to include Lowell Elementary School—broadening our impact and deepening our commitment to music education in Missoula.
